The music we play is grounded in a tradition of innovation, of pushing the status quo further and exploring new possibilities. Why shouldn’t our instruments do the same? Liberato is a project that combines a foundation of knowledge from conventional areas of musical instrument manufacturing with the efficiency and increased precision of emerging technologies.

3D Printed musical instruments

The first generation of Liberato instruments consists of a collection of prototypes, designed from scratch over many iterations of testing and tweaking to find what works best — just how instruments have always been made. The difference is that Liberato instruments are made with the precision of digital prototyping and 3D printing, using a growing knowledge base of exactly how different parameters and materials contribute to the tone.

This is a step in a direction towards a future of openness and accessibility for musical instruments.
